ELLENTON, FL. — Mr. Fred William Curtis, 62, formerly of Plaistow, N.H., died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 in Ellenton, FL., following an illness.
Son of the late Thomas C. and Ethel K. (Pike) Curtis, he was born in Haverhill and attended Haverhill Public Schools.
Mr. Curtis worked in construction and was most recently employed by Westra Construction of Palmetto, FL. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Kanatzer) Curtis of Plaistow; three sons, Chet Curtis and his wife Pamela of Fredericksburg, V.A., Denny Curtis of Salem, N.H., Seth Curtis of Plaistow; two daughters, Janet Curtis of Haverhill, M.A. and Chantel Curtis of Plaistow; four brothers, James Curtis and his wife Judith of Plaistow, Robert Curtis and his wife Beatrice of Haverhill, Dennis Curtis and his wife Terry of Haverhill, Charles Curtis and his wife Janet of Haverhill; three sisters, Patricia Swiger of Haverhill, Donna Colby of Haverhill, Rose Plourde of Haverhill; his mother-in-law, Ethel Jones of Plaistow; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas Curtis.
ARRANGEMENTS: A private memorial service will be held at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Donations in Mr. Curtis' name may be made to The Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
