Marilyn Elizabeth Perry, our beloved mother and sister, passed away on January 30, 2019 surrounded by her family after a short, but valiant fight with pancreatic cancer at the age of 74.

Marilyn was born on October 23, 1944 in Marietta, Georgia to Manuel and Katryna Atkins. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Perry and her sister, Mary A. Ricketts.

Marilyn was the tomboy of the family and an avid sports fan – especially concerning her special team, the Dallas Cowboys. She always had a great sense of humor and entertained everyone with her jokes and sunny disposition.

After raising her boys and supporting their extensive sports activities, she had a successful career in banking and eventually fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling and becoming a flight attendant.

After her retirement, she divided her time between Texas and Florida and continued enjoying her passion for travel with family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her four devoted sons, Hud Perry and daughter-in-law, Sandy, Serg Perry and daughter-in-law, Susie, all of Anaheim Hills, California, Pete Perry of Oceanside, California and Wade Perry of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Rachele, Cory, Jake, Taylor, Krista, Beau and Cole, and two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Jace. She is also survived by her other siblings and their spouses: Sylvia Coleman (Roy), Wanda Burghart (Ken), John Atkins (Melissa), Deborah Sweat (Larry), and Kathleen Crowley (Stephen), and many other dear nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Rosary at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
