Deborah “Debbie” Ham Sawyer, born February 11, 1949 in Pasadena, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 25, 2019.  She is survived by her brothers Sam Teague and wife Nelda, and Dewey Teague.  Daughters Wendy Huffman and husband John, Penny Pineault and husband Marc, Christie Hinnenkamp, Lynda Shaw and husband Curtis, Susan Ervin and husband Keith, Julie Schwemer and Stephanie Leder and husband George. She had ten grandchildren Tyra & Ethan Huffman, Garett & Abbey Pineault, Mason Hinnenkamp, C. J. Shaw, Matthew Thurman, Katy Leder, Trent &  Trever Schwemer.  Two great grandchildren Olivia and Sophia Thurman, many  nieces, nephews, friends including Mitzi her faithful pet.

She was proceeded in death by her father Sam Teague, mother Lonye Evyl Tyra Teague, little sister Jeanie Kay Teague and husband James Clark Sawyer.

She fulfilled her dream to be a loving mother, grandmother and friend.    God honored her by allowing her to have three daughters.  She took her roll as Mom very serious and was involved in all aspects of their lives, serving on the PTO board, organizing school parties, or attending as many games as possible as her girls kept her busy, especially with twins playing ball together.  Later in life the Lord added four more girls with her marriage to Jim.  So together there are  seven girls not including the many friends she allowed to hang out or even live at her home temporarily.  Her grandchildren meant the world to her.  She loved them greatly and was so proud of each one of them.  Known as “Granny” to Tyra, Garett, Ethan, Mason and Abbey and  “Boom Boom” to  Matthew, Katy, Trent, Trever and CJ.  She did her best to attend all their events and later as her health did not allow her attendance, she wanted pictures and details.

She retired from Dobie High School after nearly 30 years.  There she worked as a health care assistant.  Looking back that was the perfect job for her.  Her love for children allowed her to speak into the lives of so many students that passed through her office.  Fun loving and quick with a country quote, she loved people well.

Pall Bearers: Garett Pineault, Ethan Huffman, Mason Hinnenkamp, Matthew Thurman, Trent Schwemer, Trever Schwemer and C.J. Shaw

Honorary Pall Bearers: John Huffman, Marc Pineault, Steve Teague, Stan Teague, Sheldon Ham and Jarad Ham
