PASSMORE DIES OF INJURIES
A 14-year-old Broken Bow boy died here Saturday from injuries received Thursday when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car just east of Broken Bow on old US-70.
Bobby J. Passmore, 14, was reported in critical condition when he was taken to a DeQueen, Ark., hospital. Trooper Hubert Hibben said the boy was moved to Wadley Hospital, where he died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday of internal injuries.
The youth was knocked 35 feet when his bicycle was hit by a vehicle driven by Jimmie Gail Richards, 24, of Broken Bow, officers said.
Hibben said the car and bicycle were traveling the same direction when the youth apparently swerved to the left as the car approached him from the rear.
He was born Oct. 21, 1955, in Idabel and lived in Broken Bow all his life. He was a student in the Broken Bow schools.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Carl Wayne and Jimmy Dale Passmore, both of Broken Bow; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Passmore of Broken Bow, Kirby Willhite of Waldron, Ark., and Mrs. Viola Willhite of Broken Bow; his great-grandmothers, Mrs. Rosa Canady and Mrs. W. P. Massey, both of Broken Bow; and his great-great- grandmother, Mrs. Alice Willhite of Ogden, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Norwood-Welch Chapel in Broken Bow with the Rev. Lee Bowman officiating.
Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
