Glenn married Mary Jane Sanders on September 30, 1935. She is the daughter of Thomas Mitchell Sanders and Inez Finch. Glenn and Mary Jane had two sons, Glenn Dayton Jr., and Thomas Mitchel, named after Mary Jane's father.
Glenn worked for the state of Arizona driving a truck and doing maintenance work.
He was also very musically talented and played many stringed instruments, as well as the trumpet.
Glenn passed away on March 26, 1939, at his parents' home from complications of Vincent's Gingivitis, also known as trench mouth. The disease causes painful inflammation of the mouth and gums. It responds to the treatment of penicillin, but the antibiotic was not available at the time to cure it. He was only twenty-two years of age.
Glenn was laid to rest at the Adair family section in Pinetop, Arizona.
