HICKORY - Dustin Eugene Burns, 19, of Granite Falls, died Nov. 8, 2005, at Wake Forest
University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born Jan. 7, 1986, in Catawba
County, he was a son of Dennis and Dawn Auton Burns of the home.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Wright Auton.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Kenneth R. Burns of Spartanburg,
S.C.; paternal grandparents, Bobby E. and Patricia Burns of Hickory; maternal grandfather,
Jim Auton of Hickory; and a number of aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Bert Dixon at 3 p.m. Friday at Bass-Smith
Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Michael Burns, David Austin, Wayne Metcalf and Matthew Bentley.

The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 330 E. Sunrise Drive,
Tuscon, Ariz. 85716; or Ronald McDonald House, 410 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Sa-
lem, N.C. 27103.
