Billy was born in Greenville, Texas to Walter and Edna Mason. Billy served in the US Army Air Corps as a pilot in WWII and later attended business classes at TCU. He retired as a senior catalogue buyer from Montgomery Ward and Company after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas. In his retirement he was a devoted health club member as well as a member of the Bridgewood Church of Christ.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 70 years, Inez Mason; and brothers: Walter Mason, Jr., Jack Mason and Paul Mason.
Survivors: Sons: Ron Mason and wife, Zoe Ann, of Austin, Randy Mason and wife, Debbie, of Arlington; granddaughters: Tiffany Cortright and husband, David, Dr. Heather Levens and husband, Dr. Eric Levens, Melanie Mason, Monica Bryant and husband, Clint; and nine great-grandchildren.
