Charlene Williams Ward, 94, transitioned into eternity early Monday morning, October 3, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center. She is in the presence of the Lord and His glory.



She was born October 26, 1927. She was married to the love of her life, Harley (Bo) Ward for 58 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her grandson, Matthew Ryan Ward, her parents Charlie H. and Addie Lene Dowd Williams, her siblings Delmas Williams, Ray Williams and Josephine Beasley. She is survived by her sister, Effie Jean Shirah, Cleveland Tn.



She was "Grandma" to all who knew her. Grandma and Grandaddy (Bo) enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, entertaining friends, family and attending church. Charlene loved sewing, crocheting, cooking and visiting with her many friends. Most recently, she was an integral part of that special sisterhood of residents and staff at Retirement Inn, Swainsboro. Charlene was a member of Anchor Worship Center in Metter. She loved our Lord and loved to share His word and delivered frequent devotions to friends and family.



She is surived by her children, Paul (Linda) Ward, Joyce (Gene) Sutton, Jackie (James) Moxley, grandchildren, Scott (Amy) Funderburk, Jason (Cathy) Funderburk, Jamie (Regina) Sutton, Jeremy (Michelle) Sutton, Josh (Ashley) Ward. Step-grandchildren, Karen (Jeremy) Page of Twin City, Ga, Amy (Grant) Freeman of Elgin, SC., Great -Grandchildren, Joey, Justin, and Chace Funderburk of Guyton, Mason, Madison and Mallory Funderburk of Swainsboro, Kole Ward, Ashleigh (Thomas) Joyner, Tripp Sutton, Blaine Sutton, Brooke T. Sumner, Hannah Parker, Great-Great-grandchildren, Clay Joyner, Step- Great-grandchildren, Erin (Adam) Rogers of Metter, Brandon (Ansley) Jones of Milledgeville, Ga, Anna Freeman of Elgin, SC, Tyler, Brant and Kylee Page of Twin City, Ga., Step- Great-Great-grandchildren, Libby, Brooklyn, Savannah, and Madison Rogers of Metter.



The graveside service and burial will be Thursday 11:00am at Lake Primitive Baptist Church, Metter, with Reverend Jessie Goodman officiating.



Pallbearers will be Scott Funderburk, Jason Funderburk, Jamie Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Josh Ward and Kole Ward.

The family will receive visitors at the graveside following the service.
