GOSHEN – Mrs. Alta Van Winkle, wife of Ed Van Winkle, of Seattle, Wash., and sister of Charles R. Bechtold, of Goshen, died Monday in Seattle. The Van Winkles are former South Bend residents, moving to Seattle three years ago. Mrs. Van Winkle was the daughter of the later Mr. and Mrs. William K. Bechtold. Surviving are the brother; three sons, Dale, Edmund, and Lewis, all of Seattle, the husband and six grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. B. I Diveley, and a brother, Noble C. Bechtold, preceded her in death. The body will be brought back to Goshen and funeral services will be held in the Culp Funeral Home. Rev. T. R. Dillon, of the First Presbyterian church will officiate.
