Billie Saunders, 74, of Hurricane died at Putnam General Hospital after a long illness.
She was a retired librarian for Putnam County with 28 years of service. She was a member of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Hurricane Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Saunders.
Surviving: daughter, Jane Saunders of Washington D.C.; son, Mark Saunders of Hurricane; daughter-in-law, Ginger Johnson of Hurricane; grandchild, Madison of Hurricane.
A memorial service was held Monday, May 19, 2003, at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dan Hogan officiating. Her body was cremated. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund.
