Agnes Darlene Lowe, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall “MI” Lowe; two sons, Doug & Brian Lowe; mother and father, Mary Finley Reedy and Glenn Finley; stepfather whom she loved like a father, Tom Reedy; and two brothers, Marshall & Ford Finley.
Darlene was a faithful Christian woman who loved the Lord. She taught Sunday school and was a member of St. Clair Creek Baptist Church. She also made anyone who visited her home feel welcomed with a can of pop and a moon pie.
Survivors include three daughters Connie Surber, Kathy Blevins (Wally), Vicky Brooks (Shawn), all of Chilhowie; son Steve Lowe (Vetra) of Chilhowie; two granddaughters Kathy Dancy & Tasha Mitchell; four grandsons Kevin Blevins, Josh Lowe, and Justin & Shane Brooks; 12 great grandchildren; sister Kathleen Anders of Chilhowie; brothers Wayne Finley (Tammy) of Meadowview, and Doyle Finley of MD; sisters-in-law Florence Finley, Lucille Teaster, Shirley Lowe, and Margaret Gilley; brothers-in-law Earl Lowe, Tom Hamm, and Fred Balthazar (Teresa); and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday June 29, 2019 at the McClure Cemetery in Chilhowie with Pastor Dennis Eller officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Friday at the funeral chapel, or anytime at the home of her daughter Vicky Brooks, 221 Dillard Rd, Chilhowie, VA.
