Bishop – Virginia Helen Gillikin Bishop, age 77, of Macclenny, Florida passed away June 24, 2019 at Acosta Rua Center for Caring. She was born January 24, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William John Faust, Sr. and Annie Virginia Green Faust. Virginia was raised in Sanderson and graduated from Baker County High School in 1960. She lived in Baldwin, Florida for 20 years before moving to Macclenny in 1994. She was a Human Resource Worker at NEFSH for 10 years. She was also a cook at the First Baptist Church Daycare of Baldwin for over 10 years. She had a passion for children and loved taking care of her grandkids. Virginia was also a great seamstress and loved to crochet. She is predeceased by her parents; brother-in-law, Willard Thrift; grandson, David Wayne Gatlin.
Virginia is survived by her children, Sharron Michelle (Christopher) Morgan of Macclenny, FL, Carolyn (Randy) Hicks of Macclenny, FL, John Gillikin of Jacksonville, FL, and Sue Hodges of Baldwin, FL; brother, Johnny (Doloris) Faust of Louisville, KY; sister, Mary Sue Thrift of Macclenny, FL; grandchildren, Tyler Barwick, Taylor Morgan, Trenton Morgan, Dustin Gatlin, Daryll Gatlin, Brooke (Christopher) Latham, Belle Hodges; great-grandchild, Caselynn Gatlin; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel at 5:00 p.m. Interment will follow at South Prong Cemetery.
