He was born on November 11, 1956 in Prairie du Chien Wis, the son of Richard and Gertrude (Heins) Koopman. Kim graduated from MFL Mar Mac in 1975
and drove truck for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, riding his motorcycle, playing harmonica, doing mechanical work and spending time with his family.
Kim entered heaven leaving behind his 5 children, Jason Welch of Kansas City MO, April Persinger of Lacey WA, Amy (Mark) McKinlay of Dyersville, Amanda Koopman of Dubuque and Kim Jr. (Sara) Koopman of Durango; 14 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Karen Squirres of Maynard, Sharon Hefel of Monona & Susan (Jim) Bollman of Harpers Ferry and many other relatives and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents.
