Walter Ralph Ball was born on May 8, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Ralph P. and Lois Evans Ball. He grew up in Odessa, Texas and eventually made his way to Katy, Texas in 1977. Ralph went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 while resting comfortably at his home in Katy at the age of 71.

After nearly 50 years working in the engineering and construction industry, Ralph retired and spent his time serving others wherever he saw a need – family, home, church, friends, and the Katy Community.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy (Patty) Wright Ball; children, Rachel Tate Miller and her husband Robert, John Wiley Tate, Jr. and his wife Kristin, and Brandi Ball Anderson; along with nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Seth David Ball.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Katy’s First Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Fancher officiating. Interment will be held in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the teaching ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley https://www.intouch.org or Katy’s First Baptist Church in Ralph’s memory.
