Robin Bryant and Clarence A. Lounsbury were partners in Bryant & Lounsbury Farms, which built the packing house that is now the Redland Marketplace at S.W. 244 St. and U. S. 1. At the time it was built, in 1954, it was the largest tomato packing house in the world. B & L went bankrupt in 1958, the victim of three consecutive poor farming seasons. At the peak of their business, the farmed 10,000 acres of tomatoes in Dade County.
