Mrs. Sarah L. Parks Aged Citizen Dead
Mrs. Sarah L. Parks, widow of the late Lee J. Parks, died at her home on East Third street Sunday afternoon, after an illness of several months of heart trouble. She had reached the advanced age of 82 years, 4 months and 8 days at the time of her death.
Mrs. Parks was one of the oldest native born residents of the county, having been born and reared near Forest Green. She was the daughter of the James and Louvisa Forrest, pioneer residents of the county.
Mr. and Mrs. Parks were married in 1880, and one daughter was born to them, who died in her sixteenth year. They resided in Forest Green community until about fifteen years ago, when they moved to this city, where Mr. Parks passed away on October 7, 1928.
Mrs. Parks was a devoted and consecrated member of the Baptist church, and was a woman noble in manner, and kind and generous to all. Her memory will be cherished by a host of friends in this and as well in the Forest Green community.
Her nearest relatives surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church in this city, Tuesday morning at 10:30 by the Rev. C. E. Griswold. The remains were taken to the Parks Cemetery at Forest Green to be interred beside her husband.
