Tommy R. Watkins, 89, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2019. He was born January 31, 1930 in Arkansas County to Richard and Lena Mae Watkins.
He retired as assistant postmaster after working for the post office for 35 years. Tommy was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a Navy veteran. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Charles, Jack, and Joe Watkins, and two sisters Barbara Ann Watkins and Joyce Capps.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Price Watkins; two sons Terry Watkins and Rick Watkins; four grandchildren Heidi Finley (Kenny), John Watkins (Roxanne), Andrew Watkins, Chi-Ann Watkins; six great grandchildren Aleena, Carlee, and Ashlynn Finley and Dezarae, Sean, and MiKayla Watkins; and leaves behind many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. June 26 at Eastside Baptist Church with burial in Forks LaGrue Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
