Mrs. Jackson was born to Mr Joe James Robertson and Gladys Wortham Robertson. She attended school at Dunbar where she graduated in 1957. She went on to beauty school and completed it but never pursued a career in that field. She had her first child in 1958. She later married Rev. James Harper Jackson and to their union they had five more children. After her husband passed on, she had another child in 1978. She was a nanny for Dr. Charles and Patti Fougerrouse and their children for 17 years. She was a faithful member of James Chapel in Huntington, TX until her health began to decline. She was a resident at Parkwood Nursing Home until her passing.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded jn death by her mother and father, Joe and Gladys Robertson, her husband, James H. Jackson, brother, Charles Robertson Sr, sister, Beulah Barnes, son, James Robertson, daughters, Gladys Hale and Claudia Jackson, great-grandson, Jordan Cockrell and great-granddaughter, Micaela Swint Lewis.
She leaves behind her children, Eva Mae Jackson, Keith Jackson, Don (Darlene) Jackson, Christie Lawson, her sister in law, Mrs. Annie B. Robertson and a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Near and dear to her heart was her daughter in law, Lela Robertson. Special acknowledgement to the Dunbar Class of 57 and a special thanks to the staff of Parkw•ood In the Pines Nursing Home.
