An incredible man has left this earth. Ray passed away March 29th at his home in Rosemount, after having battled leukemia. Ray was born October 11, 1937 in Madelia, Minnesota to Raymond and Evelyn (Bennett) Hanson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Lake Crystal High School where he met his future bride, Jean Fredericksen. He attended St. Thomas College and graduated from Mankato State College.

He married Jean on June 7, 1958. They were blessed with three children: Deb, Jay, and Mike.

Ray was well known in the personal care industry and his career in the chemical field took him to Mankato, Battle Creek, Michigan, Valencia, Venezuela, Dublin, Ohio, and the Twin Cities area. Known for his quick wit and love of family, Ray enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bridge, and reading books on World War II. He was especially drawn to the little people in our family.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Jean; children, Deb (Kevin) Kelly, Jay (Michelle), Mike (Teri Jaspersen); 7 grandchildren, Tania (Mike) Fugazzi, James Bowers, Ashley (Corey) Blazejak, Kolin (Maggie) Kelly, Kalyn Kelly, Alyssa & Erika Hanson; 7 great-grandchildren, siblings, Sandy (Al) Giese, Richard (Pat) Hanson, Linda Hanson, Vicki (Dave) Pauling, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, a niece, aunts, and uncles. May he rest in peace.

Memorial Service at 11am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, with visitation one hour prior.--The Mankoto Free Press April 2, 2018
