ANTHONY "TONY"'S OBITUARY
Anthony “Tony” Cockrell, 33, of Canadian died April 5, 2018 in Canadian.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at The River Church with Donald Hill, Pastor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Anthony was born May 30, 1984 in Canadian, Texas to Darrell Cockrell and
Debra Butler Cockrell. He attended and graduated Higgins High School. Anthony was a member of the Chickasaw Tribe. Among friends and family, he was considered an exceptional musician. Anthony was a drummer, played the guitar, mandolin, banjo, and the fiddle; anything with strings. He was a self-taught musician, song writer and shared a love for 60’s music with his dad. Anthony was a writer of prose, short stories, poetry and lots of music. He was known to be easy going, friendly and a great conversationalist.
Survivors include his dad, Darrell Cockrell of Canadian; mom, Debra Cockrell of Darrouzett; son, Logan Seth Cockrell of Hadley; brother, Steve Cockrell of Canadian; grandmother, Audrey Cockrell of Canadian; two aunts, Diane Zenor and husband Bill of Canadian, Diane Monroe and husband Clay of Iraan; two uncles, Ron Butler and wife Michelle of Azle and Phelan Ray Butler and wife Sui Mei of Winchester Hills, UT and numerous cousins and additional family. Anthony was preceded in death by grandparents, R.Q. & Chris Butler, B.G. “Pig” Cockrell and an uncle, Loren Butler.
