Naomi was the third of five children of Joel Pearson (1798-1878) and Sarah Emily Fornea (1808-1858). On March 12, 1857, she and Stephen Richardson Pool(e) were married by the Methodist Rev. William Venable. The 1860 census shows the couple living in Greensburg, St. Helena Parish, LA, where they are farming. Naomi died at the young age of 23 a year later, of consumption.
