Martin Allen “Marty” Miller, 96 of La Crescent, MN passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born in Hokah, MN on January 24, 1924 to Emma (Lehmann) and John Paul Miller Jr. He married Beatrice Weiland at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse, WI on April 20, 1948. Beatrice preceded him in death on December 17, 2012.

Marty attended St. Peter’s Catholic School in Hokah, MN. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea and was a former La Crescent council member. He was the Mayor of La Crescent, MN from 1968 to 1973. He worked at Trane Company in La Crosse, WI for 38 years. He farmed in Brownsville, MN, while working at Trane Company and also following his retirement. Marty was a member of the American Legion Post 595 in La Crescent, MN, the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1530 in La Crosse, WI, the Knights of Columbus in La Crescent, MN and Church of the Crucifixion in La Crescent, MN. He had served as a church trustee of Crucifixion Church.

Marty is survived by his children; Sue Miller and Kathy (Rich) Peterson of La Crescent, MN, John (Rose) Miller of Brownsville, MN, Jean (Dave) Klinski of Caledonia, MN, Judy Storlie and Jane Miller of La Crescent, MN.

His grandchildren; Jason (Theresa Knutson) Storlie, Jen (Justin Groll) Conroy, Justin (Stacey) Storlie, Jeff (Amy) Storlie, Rebecca (Justin) Sharbono, Nathan (Penny Wunderlich) Klinski, Jacob Klinski, Michael (Amanda) Klinski, Aleisa Klinski, Adam Peterson, Nicole (Shane Eastman) Miller and Christine (Ben) Novak.

His great-grandchildren; Blake Johnson, Wacey Knutson, Jackson, Colton, Mason and Jillian Conroy, Anthony and Nicholas Verby, Emerson, Nellie and Joey Storlie, Addica and Jude Sharbono, Kieran Klinski, Kora Miller, Taylor Eastman, Lilly and Morgan Novak, and Imani and Isaiah Peterson.

He is also survived by his sisters; Gertrude Miller and Lucille (John) Petersen of Caledonia, MN, his brothers; Marcellus and Conrad of La Crosse, WI and Albert of La Crescent, MN. His sisters-in-law Mildred Miller of West Salem, WI, Rita Miller of La Crescent, MN, Monica Miller of Milwaukee, WI, Carol Weiland of Onalaska, WI and Dorothy Weiland of La Crosse, WI. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Beatrice, He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Rudolph, Eugene, Vincent, Norbert and Harold, his grandson Shane Miller and his son-in-law Jerry "Red" Storlie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at SpringBrook Village in La Crescent, MN for their kindness and special care during his stay there.

A private service will be held for Marty on May 9, 2020 at Crucifixion Church in La Crescent, MN. Father John L. Evans II will officiate. Private Burial will follow in Crucifixion Cemetery, La Crescent.
