Sara "Hoppy" Frances Cox
February 15, 1949 - October 25, 2017
Macon, GA- Sara "Hoppy" Frances Cox, 68, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:00am in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Research Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
Hoppy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Ray William Cox and Sara Jane Hall Cox and was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Cox, Jr and sister, Joy Ann Cox. She was a business owner including Cox Seafood and The Storage Club. Hoppy was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, formerly known as Hillcrest, and was a star fast pitch softball player for the nationally ranked Lorelei Ladies. Hoppy loved her family, friends and community. She supported many people in their time of need.
Survivors include her siblings, Stephen M. Cox of Macon, John David Cox of Macon, and Harriet Cox Hetzel (Doug) of Summerville, SC; loving nieces and nephews, Billy Cox, Todd Cox, Misty Lauk, Starr Mackey, Jennifer Dowling, Mallory Hetzel, Lauren Hetzel and Douglas Ray Hetzel; great nieces, Audri, Carolina and Maggie; and many special cousins and friends.
