Earl Duane “Dean” Bowman, 51, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was born December 26, 1967 in Little Rock to Earl D. and the late Norma Aline Edmonds Bowman. Dean accepted Christ in December of 1983 and was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church in Ward. He enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching children’s church and representing Christ to everyone he met. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Randall Hunting Club. Dean battled the complications of diabetes from age eight, especially the last 17 years, but he remained strong, determined and rarely complained. Dean loved God, his family and especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Pearl Bowman and Sybil Jewel Edmonds.

Dean is survived by his wife, Jolynda Ownbey Bowman; children, Nicole Snow (Josh) and Jonathon Bowman; grandchildren, Dustyn, Ellieana and Presley Jade Snow; his father and step-mother, Earl and Jackie Bowman; siblings, Steven Bowman, Laura Smith (Raven) and Angelia Hamilton (Ed) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to the physicians and staff at UAMS, BRI, Baptist Home Health, Woodland Hills and Kindred Hospice. Memorial gifts may be made in Dean’s name to Helping Hands Ministry at New Horizons Baptist Church; 13018 Hwy 31 North; Ward, AR 72176.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at New Horizon Baptist Church in Ward with Pastor Kevin Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Butlerville Cemetery.
