BREA, May 3.—Dr. Charles F. Curtis, 73, died yesterday morning at his home, following a two weeks illness. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the McAuley and Suters funeral parlors in Fullerton.
Dr. Curtis was born in Iowa City, Iowa, May 1, 1859. He attended school at Battle Creek, Mich. He married Miss Leanna Morrell in 1887 at Ligonaler, Ind. After his marriage, the family moved to Georgia where he was graduated from the Georgia Eclectic Medical School, later teaching in the same school. He practiced medicine in Atlanta until five years ago when the family came to California. They have resided in Baldwin Park and Brea since that time.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leanna Curtis, a son, Dr. C. Glenn Curtis of Brea, and two daughters, Miss Helen Curtis of the White Memorial hospital in Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lee Fields of Atlanta, Ga., as well as a sister, Mrs. Czar Nichola of Worthington, Ohio.
Dr. Curtis was the founder of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Georgia in 1889, and was a member of the Georgia State Eclectic association.
