Soldier, War of 1812Update: 23 April 2019-- no longer found or able to be viewed on fold3, ALL 25 pages of this mans military doc/info/statements etc....THE last 3 days, it has been like this..1 min. its found, next not found..SO, either its been pulled or blocked again..
There are/were 2 ebooks online..no longer found.
1 ebook, claimed his widow's maiden name was Whitney
1 ebook, claimed his widow's maiden name was Porter/Portor
BUT, ALL 25 pages of his War of 1812 related documentation, to which was sworn too/by and witnessed..was stating his widow's maiden name was POST..and so, this is what Richard Beckwith's widow was paid under, this "maiden name" of Post..(not whitney, not porter/portor).
According to all readings, his widow, was supposedly married 1 time before Mr. Beckwith...and then, his widow got paid a war pension under her 1st husband's surname? WHEN in sworn statements of 25 pages in the National Archives, etc..that her maiden name was Post? MIND you, the ONLY connection, affiliation I could find, relating to the Whitney surname/maiden name..is on 1 paper, there was a Emmitt and Mary Whitney who were listed as "witnesses"...nothing else..No statements as to who they were, how related..etc..Further, IS there any real proof of a marriage to his widow before Mr. Beckwith? Only an ebook that could be misconstrued..with 2 witnesses on the bottom of a page, with nothing explaining who they were/how related.

THIS information, needs to be investigated, and amended ..but then, in doing that, one changes history, and possibly any inherited land, deeds, properties, monies, antiques, jewelry..any and all things given under that name of Post..

THIS disaster of confusion, and family lines, historians, alike, also places suspicion as what is really going on..
