Kelly Anderson, 58, of State Center, Iowa, died on Friday, June 21, 2019, at the State Center Specialty Care with his family by his side. Following Kelly's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A public memorial gathering at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will be a time of storytelling and sharing lead by Pastor John Whitehead.

Kelly Anderson was a twin, born on February 12, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Eugene Howard and Betty Mae (Lemley) Anderson.

He was raised and educated in Iowa where he graduated from High School. Kelly might not have been married on paper but he was blessed to spend many years with his life partner Carol Mayer. The couple loved being with one another and sharing countless years of love and memories. Kelly took in Carol's son as his own.

He was a hardworking man when his body would allow him to work. Kelly worked at Riverside Cemetery at one point where he was proud to fix anything or do anything that was needed. Kelly had a passion for fishing, camping, finding treasures with his metal detector and drinking a cold Budweiser.

Survivors include his stepson, Chris (Joleen) Beebe; two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sophia; and siblings, Shirley (Les) Tempel of State Center, Sonya (Jeff Lamb) Nicholson of Altoona, and Brenda Thompson of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Betty Mae; life partner Carol Mayer; and his twin brother Kevin Anderson.
