Dearest Baby Fannie,

You left your family too soon - little Fannie - with those pretty blue eyes - as your older sister Maria Antonia “Anne / Antoinette Marie” Fariello-Bimonte relayed to me in a conversation we had about your birth and death in 1999.

Anne, as she was called by the family, said your Mom and Dad didn't have the money to bury you. She said you were buried in a Potter's grave, but she was wrong.

You were buried in the Old St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx on Sunday, January 24, 1915 one day after your death on Saturday, January 23, 1915. You were only 5 months and 15 days old.

Anne didn't know. She only remembered you as the pretty blue-eyed baby who died with her eyes open. Anne was only 6 years old when you died, but she remembered you.

She had told me you were buried in a Potter's Grave. I only discovered your burial at St. Raymond's when I created this memorial for you. Your other sisters are buried there too. I put a picture of your five sisters on this memorial page, along with a picture of your parents.

Your Mom gave birth to a daughter after you died. She named her in honor of you. She was named Felicia, but they called her Fanny.

Fanny also died in January, very close to your death date - she died on January 20, 1998, she was almost 83 years old.

I came across this poem on September 19, 2019 after the tragic accidental death of a 2 year old boy Max and thought it appropriate for you too and the other babies who die before living life. Rest in peace little one. You are now reunited with your family in Heaven.

Too Soon by Mary Yarnall

This was a life that had hardly begun
No time to find your place in the Sun
No time to do all you could have done
But we loved you enough for a lifetime

No time to enjoy the world and it’s wealth
No time to take life down off the shelf
No time to sing the songs of yourself
Though you had enough love for a lifetime

Those who live long endure sadness and tears
But you’ll never suffer the sorrowing years
No betrayal, no anger, no hatred, no fears
Just love – Only love – In your lifetime.
