On December 3, 1976, David married Beverly Phetteplace in St. John, MI, a loving union of 42 years.
David was a dairy farmer. For over 25 years, he served as the dog warden for Sherburne, Smyrna, North Norwich, Plymouth, Preston, Lincklaen and Earlville.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Smyrna and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his children, David Meyers, Jr. of NC; Vicki (Robert) Huebner of Fulton, IL; Leeann (Bruce) Hagen of Norwich; Kelly (Steve) Lerche of Endicott; Lisa (Bill) Linderman of Tangeurn AR; and Wendy Meyers of Lodi, CA; brothers, Frank (Connie) Meyers of Chenango Forks; Ken (Marylee) Meyers of New Berlin; thirteen grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was predeceased by a nephew, Keith Meyers. In keeping with his wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Interment will be private in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Smyrna Methodist Church, c/o Barbara Parry, Treas., 321 County Rd. 20, Smyrna, NY 13464.
