Eugene Dale Young, 61, of Mt. Nebo passed away on
Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Greenbrier Valley Medical
Center Hospital at Fairlea. Born April 5, 1958 at
Richwood, he was a son of the late James Alex and Zela
Groves Young. He was also preceded in death by his
wife, Christine Joan Young, siblings, Juanita Annette
Young Spivey, Margaret Ann Young Tonnellier, James
Alex Young, Jr., Donna Arlene Young, and Ira Clarence
“Sonny” Young.

He was a member of the Gilgal United Methodist
Church at Mt. Nebo, was on a Neighbor Watch Council
for many years, a former associate director of the
Mountain State Gospel Singers Association, was a
maintenance worker at Carnifax State Park, and was a
former employee of Halstead’s Foodland.

Survivors include his sister, Irene Carol (Romeo)
Dorsey of Mt. Nebo; two brothers, Thomas Oliver (Vivian)
Young of Suffolk, VA and Donald Ray (Francis) Young of
East Lake, OH; lifelong friend, David Moore, numerous
nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday,
June 24, 2019 in the Gilgal United Methodist Church at
Mt. Nebo with Pastor David Moore officiating. Interment
will follow in the Dorsey Cemetery at Runa.
