William A. Stinehour was 22 years old and born at Farrisburgh, Addison County, Vermont. He enlisted on August 26, 1861, at Brandon, Vermont, and mustered into Company H, 5th Regiment, Vermont Infantry. His Regiment moved to Washington under the Army of the Potomac. His Muster Roll reflects that he died of typhoid fever at Seminary Hospital, Georgetown, Washington, D.C.


The Dept of VA lists him as: STINEHOUR, WM A PVT H 5 VT INF DATE OF DEATH: 12/01/1861 BURIED AT: SITE 1020
