Born September 18, 1944 in Braxton County, WV, he was the son of the late Foster Czar Murphy and Violet (Lockard) Hatfield.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rickie Marie Murphy; a son, David F. Murphy; and, his two sisters, Shirley Witherow and Betty Moore.
Mr. Murphy had been self-employed.
He belonged to Calvary Assembly of God – “The Grace Place” in Fort Ashby.
Survivors include his two children, Dale A. Murphy and wife April and Debbie L. Frankenberry and husband Gil; an aunt, Lee Jewel Lockard; and, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be at Calvary Assembly of God, Fort Ashby, on Saturday from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Wes Beahm, officiating.
Interment will be on Monday at 11 AM in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, WV.
