Barbara attended Wynne Schools and was of the Baptist faith. On January 21, 1966, Barbara and Mr. James “Jim” Rathel Eldridge were united in marriage. Barbara enjoyed working in the garden alongside Jim, and sharing their bountiful harvest with others. Mrs. Eldridge also enjoyed reading, and loved caring for her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald Oscar Sides and Carter Sides; and a sister, Lois Jane Parks.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jim Eldridge of the home; a son, Thomas “Tommy” Gary Eldridge of West Memphis; a daughter, Christy Angela Browning and husband, Larry, of Lakeland, Tennessee; two brothers, Eddie Lee Sides and wife, Nellie, of Wynne; and Freddy Dean Sides of Hayward, California; a sister, Ruth Ann Hollis and husband, Johnny, of Parkin; seven grandchildren, James, Justin, Nicole, Brandon, Rex, Dex, and Sarah Grace; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Reverend Chris Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery near Wynne.
