Teresa Janice Dennis Gray, "Jan", age 66, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away, June 17, 2019, in Denton, Texas. Jan was born November 25, 1952, in Denton, Texas, to Andrew Jackson Dennis II, “Jack” and Georgia Mae Dennis, “Jo”. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her maternal and paternal grandparents; Maude Averill and Homer Lee Parr; Alta Faye and Harper Lindsey Dennis.
Jan is survived by her loving daughters Angela Averill Williams, son-in-law Troy Williams and daughter Deidra Nicole Pannell, wife Vanessa Pannell; son Keith Blaine Pannell Jr. and daughter-in-law Bethany Pannell; sisters Jody Dennis Thomas and Jackie Dennis Works; grandchildren Jorja, Evan, Teagan, LJ and Hatcher; aunts and uncles Auntie Sissy, Uncle Bill and Uncle Charles; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jan was raised in Lewisville Texas. She grew up with her sisters and friends running around the rodeo grounds, attending football games, lake parties and the occasional concert at the local speedway. Jan loved sports including football. She was a member of the Fighting Farmerette drill team. Jan married her high school sweetheart and graduated from LHS in 1971. Together they quickly began creating their own family, Keith, Angie and Deidra. Family life centered around lots of music - Texas Moon, football, soccer, sweet tea, a good bit of reading and fishing and of course, the afternoon ritual of drinking a good cup of coffee.

If you know Jan at all you know how fiercely she loved her people, both family and friend. She was loyal and had an easy way about her that made tough times seem easier and happy times feel even happier. Watching her children navigate life was one of her greatest joys. No matter where they lived, who they loved, what job they held or what trophy they won, she was always there to celebrate their milestones. Other than her children, her grandchildren Jorja, Evan and Teagan were her greatest source of pride and joy. She also had a big heart for her grand fur-babies. All of her nieces and nephews were her favorites. Wink, wink.

Jan retired from banking in 2017 and spent most of her spare time supporting her grandchildren’s latest endeavors and planning her next river adventure with her sidekick Jody. No one anticipated the beginning of hockey season or the arrival of fall quit like Jan did. She loved the cooler temperatures and all that fall promised. While life will never be the same, we can all look with anticipation toward the promise described in the book of Lamentations 3: 22-23. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

A celebration of life will take place 2pm, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
