Ms. Vaughn was born on February 23, 1976, in Athens, GA; daughter of Carol Roach Ashworth of Hartwell, GA and Billy and Judy Vaughn of Royston, GA. Jamie was a life-long resident of Franklin County and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1994, where she developed a deep-rooted love for Franklin County athletics. She spent many afternoons cheering on family and friends from the sidelines of the basketball court, behind home plate of the baseball and softball fields, but her most favorite was yelling and ringing her beloved cow bell under the Friday night lights at Ed Bryant Stadium.
Jamie worked tireless hours throughout her life, but the most prominent job title she held was “Mama.” She loved her three beautiful sons, Dylan James, Hunter Chance, and Walker Chase with an unwavering love that only a mother can provide. Jamie not only mothered her boys but would take any child under her wing at any point and was always willing to add another kid to her crew. During her time at Backstreet Bar-B-Que, Tri-County Sporting Goods, and Southeast Toyota Corporation, Jamie made an innumerable amount of friends that she would end up nurturing just like any Mama would.
Jamie was an avid outdoors-woman her entire life. She began each hunting season in September with her family in the dove fields, having a competitive dove hunt. During the rest of fall and into the winter months she would hunt whitetail deer with her Daddy any chance she could. Jamie loved fishing and was always up for a good fishing trip any time of the year.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas “Bud” Vaughn and Bruce and Joyce Roach.
