Tommy Kenneth Brewer

Kenneth, 88, was born August 6, 1930 in Blessing, Texas to Thomas Jacob ‘Tommy’ Brewer and Leafie Alberta Tyler. He entered into eternal rest June 18, 2019, after a lengthy illness in Evergreen Community, Minden, Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Willie Edna ‘Billie’ McIntyre, daughters, Tammy Brewer Staley Perkins and Vannessa Annett Brewer Wilmon; and sons, William ‘Bill’ Rogers, Carlson Blane Brewer Sr., Phillip Lynn Brewer, and Tommy Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Brewer, Jr.

Kenneth is also survived by his sisters, Bernice Brewer Rich and Dorothy Alberta ‘Dottie’ Brewer Collier, his brothers, Zelmer Levi Brewer, Ira Herbert Brewer [Valene], and Henry Carroll Brewer [Nancy].

He is survived by grandchildren, Misty, Emmitt, Vena, Christina, Blane Jr., Gabrielle, Justin, Vernon Jr., Rechal, and Chad; along with several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son, Erwin Kent Brewer, granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Brewer (#137393808), his sisters Minnie Inez Brewer, Betty Ruth Brewer, Glenda Mae Brewer Rozell; brothers, Wesley Clifton Brewer, Granville Lee Brewer, Baby Boy Brewer, Harold Douglas Brewer and Ernest Carter Brewer.

One of his earliest jobs was building wooden coke bottle crates (earning the highest commission). Kenneth served our country in the Navy and won several medals in swimming competitions. Eventually he learned to the drywall hanging trade and taught several of his sons, as well as others, how to excel in this field. His final vocation was vehicle maintenance.

He loved playing dominos, the harmonica and guitar. He also love being Paw to his numerous grandchildren and loved his doggies. He very much enjoyed climbing mountains and camping.

Evergreen Cemetery will be his final resting place where his ashes will be interred.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his home in Evergreen Community, Minden, Louisiana.
