Her life will be celebrated by way of services at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to
7 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 6:30 p.m.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1933, in Dubuque, daughter of Jacob and Bernice (Ruh) Kraus. She married Joseph MacDonald on April 7, 1951.
She was employed at Sears for several years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart parish and a volunteer at the Dubuque Food Pantry, and many other volunteer efforts. She received a Governors Award for volunteering from Gov. Terry Branstad.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a proud and doting grandmother and great-grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and her beagle, Molly.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Laurie (Greg) Parker and a son, Steve (Heidi) MacDonald, both of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Amy (Bill) VanderMeulen, Mike (Mandy) Parker, Chris MacDonald, Lisa MacDonald, Ben MacDonald and Connor MacDonald; and three great-grandchildren, Colten and Derek VanderMeulen and Drake Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Miller; and a great-grandchild, William VanderMeulen
