Nicewarner dies at 81
John A. Nicewarner, 81, former Manly resident and retired taxi driver, died Saturday at Phoenix, Ariz., where he had made his home with his son, Russell.
Mr. Nicewarner was born Aug. 11,1881, at Clarks, Neb., son of Henry and Harriett (Honeycutt) Nicewarner. He came to Iowa as a small boy by covered wagon and lived at Manly until 1941. He had lived in Des Moines and Phoenix for the last 20 years.
Surviving are two sons, Russell Nicewarner, Phoenix, Ariz., and Earl R. Nicewarner, Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Elinor) Felker, Mason City, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Vernon (Ada) Montgomery, Fulton, Mo., and a brother, Dana Nicewarner, Fulton, Mo., also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1940 and by a son in February 1961.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Visitation has been scheduled at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel from 7 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

John Nicewarner funeral set for 2 p.m. Thursday
The funeral for John A. Nicewarner, 81, former Manly resident who died Saturday in Phoenix, Ariz., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel. The Rev. John G. Walker, pastor of the Assembly of god Church, will officiate.
Pallbearers elected are Morris Schindele, Wesley Trettin, Glen Johnson, Virgil Johnson, Roger Felker and Earl Ross Nicewarner. Mrs. henry and Mrs. George Felker will be in charge of flowers. Ralph Height will be organist.
Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation at the chapel will be until the time of services.
