Mr. J.W. “Cotton” Harkins, age 91, of Dahlonega passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Mr. Harkins was born in Suches, GA on August 6, 1927 to the late Ben and Alice Stover Harkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Bertha Harkins, son Tony Harkins, and daughter Beverly Harkins. Mr. Harkins was a member of Harmony Church of God. He was retired from the University of North Georgia. Mr. Harkins loved to fish, garden, and coon hunt.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, Dahlonega, GA. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.
