Joyce Francis Ellis, 86, of Peru passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 5, 1932 in Taylorsville, Kentucky to Stadie (Norton) Spurr and Omer Cecil Spurr. Mrs. Ellis was married to the late Bob Ellis, who preceded her in death in 1967. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Elks, the Moose, and the Eagles in Peru.

She is survived by her son Robert W. Ellis II, and daughters Brenda J. Hartleroad (wife of Dave Hartleroad, who was like a son to her), and Wanda J. Ellis and her companion, Jim Van Dyke. Also, granddaughter Brianne Hartleroad, and grandsons David Hartleroad, James (Sara) Ellis, Jarrod Ellis (fiancé Angela), and Paul Michael Ellis; and great-grandsons Dayne Hartleroad, (Skylar, Daviyan, Waylin, and Wesley Ellis), and great-granddaughters Danielle Hartleroad, (Jalynne, Kenya, Miss Whitley, and Braelynne Ellis); and great-great-grandson D.J. Hartleroad; and niece Judy Fenwick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Bennie Spurr and Jesse Spurr, sister Hazel Perkins, a son and two daughters deceased at birth, and nephew Gary Perkins.

As per Mrs. Ellis’ request, graveside services only will be held at 11am on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Mount Hope Cemetery, with Adam Linkenhoker officiating. Friends are invited.
