SAMMIE HODGE, 66, of Ruskin died Saturday at home. A native of Newberry, he moved to the Tampa Bay area 30 years ago from Gainesville. He was a barber shop owner, an Army veteran of the Korean War and member of Simmons-Loop Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Louise; two sons, Michael of Port Charlotte and Sammie of Ruskin; two daughters, Deborah Melvin and Denise Hodge, both of Ruskin; three brothers, Rufus of Tallahassee, Steve of Seffner and William of Gainesville; two sisters, Pauline Kent of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Orbie Pump of Bartow; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
