Linda Susanne (McGee) Harrington
MARCH 25, 1964 ~ JUNE 16, 2019 (AGE 55)

Linda Susanne McGee Harrington, our sweet sister, sister-in-law, Aunt and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the University of Utah Hospital, the result of hemorrhagic stroke.

Linda was born on March 25, 1964 in Bountiful, Utah to Alan Leslie and Bertha Mary Johnson McGee. She lived in Farmington most of her life, including quite a few years in her “dream home” - the old pioneer home located at 445 North Main Street in Farmington, where her mother grew up. Just a few months ago, Linda moved to the Fairfield Village Assisted Living Center in Layton, where she could get the help and care she needed with her health issues, including renal failure.

Linda graduated from Davis High School in 1982, where she served on the Senior Class Committee. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her entire life, serving in various callings. She most enjoyed doing wonderful Ward Newsletters monthly for the Farmington First Ward. She served an 18-month mission from 1985 to 1987. She served in the Colombia Bogata Mission until, because of health issues, she was transferred to the Nevada Las Vegas Mission (Spanish Speaking) where she finished serving. She attended Weber State University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. It was while attending Weber State that she met and married the LOVE OF HER LIFE, Charles (Chuck) Harrington, in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1990. They were perfect for each other and loved each other so much!

Her sweet husband Chuck died on his 49th birthday, on March 8, 2015 after a short but difficult battle with cancer. Losing Chuck was very difficult for Linda and she missed him terribly. She longed to be reunited with him. So, despite our sadness in losing Linda, we are sure that she and Chuck are enjoying a wonderful heavenly reunion together, and for that we are so thankful.

Chuck and Linda were never able to have children, but Linda loved to hold and spoil all of her nieces and nephews, and later all the grand nieces and nephews. She loved to give them clothes and treats from “Aunt Linda” and was especially close to Abby Cinnamon, her little 6-year-old grand-niece, whom she loved like her own grandchild. She also loved her “fur babies” (her cats) and at one time, had six of them to love and care for. To her, they were “her children” and she loved and spoiled them accordingly.

Linda had many friends and was really good at keeping in touch with them over the years. Because she struggled with so many health issues in her life, she was especially appreciative of the friends and family who took the time to stop and visit her, take her to her doctor appointments and enjoy lunch or movies with her.

Linda had a STRONG testimony and love of our Savior. She had many talents including poetry, sewing and needlepoint. She had a keen, sharp mind and a love for people.

Linda is survived by her brother Doug (Karen) McGee and her Sister Holly (Brad) Beck, both of Syracuse, and her Sister-in-Law Candy McGee of West Jordan. She will also be deeply missed by lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles (Chuck) Harrington, her parents Alan and Bertha McGee and two brothers, Scott Alan and Dale Bernard McGee.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at the Compton Bench LDS Church located at 850 North, 300 West (Compton Bench) in Farmington. Her viewing will be from 5:00 – 5:45 pm and the funeral will be from 6:00-7:00 pm. Interment will be at the Farmington City Cemetery immediately following the services.
