COCOA BEACH—
Allan W. Petri, 69, of Cocoa Beach, passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2002 at the home.
Born in Two Rivers, Wis., he was very active in his church and in local politics serving as President of the School Board. He later moved to Minnesota, where he was involved in the owning, training and racing of harness race horses with his sons. He later transferred to Waterloo, Ill. and then retired and moved to Cocoa Beach for the past 10 years, where he was very active with the Redeemer Lutheran Church and also volunteered at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
He was a precinct clerk for the supervisor of elections in Cap Canaveral. He enjoyed traveling all over the world, and surf fished every day possible.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly; children, Allan and Ramona of Valmeyer, Ill., Cheryl and Steven Meier of Danville, Calif., Thomas and Rebecca of St. Thomas, V.I., Jon and Pamela of High Ridge, Mo. and David and Karmen of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Ann Louise Engelland of Two Rivers, Wis.; and six grandchildren, Christopher Meier, Lisa Meier, Benjamin Petri, Maxwell Petri, Robert Petri and Alex Petri.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth; sister, Karen; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church on Merritt Island.
