Ed D. Hills
September 27, 1935 - June 17, 2019 (age 83)

Ed D Hills, age 83, died peacefully at home in Delta, Utah on Monday, June 17, 2019. He was born on September 27, 1935 at his home in Orem, Utah to West and Fern Rawlings Hills. He married Charlotte Nicol on November 17, 1953.

He lived and raised his family in Orem, Utah. He ran his own business as an electrical contractor, and also worked for and retired from U.S. Steel (Geneva Works) as a master electrician. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all his life, serving in many callings, as well as a six month mission at the Heber Valley Girls Camp. He served as a volunteer policeman in Orem, and helped with other various community projects.

Ed loved to travel and experience many places. He traveled many places around the world, but especially loved the experiences shared with family and friends. One favorite was the many summers spent at Lake Powell, and another were the several Christmases spent in Mazatlan, Mexico. Ed lived in Lander, Wyoming for five years where the hunting and fishing were great. He lived in Mesquite, Nevada for 14 years, and spent the winters in Yuma, Arizona and every other summer in Alaska. Then as his health failed, they moved to Delta to a very welcoming Ward and community.

Ed is survived by his wife: Charlotte Hills, Delta; children: Jay D (Rhonda) Hills, Logandale, NV; Dal N (Brenda) Hills, Midway; JeniLyn (Rick) Bishop, Delta; Melody (Shane) Draper, Elko, NV; Ed W (Lara) Hills, St. George; 31 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter: LuAnn Hills Dunn.

Special thanks is given to the Hospice people who so kindly and graciously helped during his last six months. Sherri Pace has given beyond the required attention to her job and we love her and thank her for that.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2:00 pm, at the Delta 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 222 West 200 North. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday, 7:00-8:00 pm; and Saturday, 12:30-1:40 pm, prior to the service. Burial will in Delta City Cemetery. www.nicklemortuary.com
