Ed served his country in the US Army. He was a life member of Amity Lodge 340 and Omar Shrine Temple. He was a York Rite, Past Director and Treasurer of Omar Imps and past President Emeritus Treasurer and Secretary of SASCA. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Darlington, SC. Before retiring he was a Commercial Contractor.
He was married to the late Lucille Harper.
