Nellie Cole, 87, of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019. She enjoyed cooking and being with family. Nellie also enjoyed being involved in the social activities at the nursing home and never missed bingo. She was born on July 22, 1931 to Henry and Agnes (VanderWeele) DeVisser in Lester, IA. Nellie worked as a Homemaker. On June 29, 1956 she married John Cole in Fremont, MI. Nellie is survived by her children, Debra (Larry) McDonald, Brian (Linda) Cole, Douglas Cole, Christina (Dan) Desrosiers; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Lillian (Glen) Kidner, brother Sherwood DeVisser; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Cole; son, James Cole; sisters, Janet DeVisser, Lorraine DeVisser, Mae Green; brothers, Gordon DeVisser, Henry DeVisser. Visitation will be held Monday, June 17, 2019, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services, 45 E. Main St., Grant, MI 49327. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 11:00 am at the Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services Grant Chapel, 45 E. Main St., Grant, MI 49327, with pastor Ben McKnight officiating. Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery.
