Elva June Holder, age 72 of Cowan, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 in Smyrna surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, June was born in Estill Springs on October 24, 1946 to the late Jessie Franklin and Maggie Maye (Myers) Ashby. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, as well as cooking. June was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend, and she loved taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Holder. She is survived by her sons, Tony Angstead of Smyrna and Terry (Tracy) Angstead of Nebraska; daughter, Teena Lorincz of Baltimore, Maryland; nine grand-children; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Mann of Decherd and Lois Hannah of Belvidere; and life-long friend, Lisa Ann Collins of Cowan. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Lester Ashley officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
