Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Evelyn E. Burnett, 82, of Southside, who passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018. The Rev. JL Knight and the Rev. Jan Stanley will officiate. Interment will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
Mrs. Burnett was born in Alabama City on Nov. 14, 1935, to GL and Lillian Cline. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at a very young age. She was a faithful member of Alabama City Church of God and presently attended Safe Harbor Church of God. She was married to the love of her life, Curtis Burnett, for 62 years, and together they shared an interest in gardening and traveling. Her greatest joys were loving the Lord and her granddaughters, Morgan and Molly. She was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and retired from the Etowah County Probate Office.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Curtis Lamar Burnett; parents, Garrison and Lillian Cline; brothers, Clifford Cline and Hughey Cline; and her infant sister, Betty Cline.
Survivors include her devoted and loving son, Randall R. (Charie) Burnett; granddaughters, Morgan Burnett (Josh) Gentry, Molly Burnett (Hunter) Bellew; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josh Gentry, Hunter Bellew, John Tanner Williams, David Roberts, Don Jones, Leonard Greene, Dennis Cline, and Danny Cline.
As a family we were blessed to have wonderful caregivers and nurses. Thank you Eva Rogers, Geraldine Williams, and Kim Woods. Also, we are forever thankful to the Alacare nursing staff, Jennifer Clay, and Elizabeth Goll.
