Lucia Rose Eyman, the second daughter of Albert F. and Nellie (Yoder) Eyman was born on their farm in rural Canby, Oregon on March 12, 1915, in Clackamas, Oregon, her father, Albert, was 31, and her mother, Nellie, was 29. She and her older sister Roberta were joined by siblings Anna Lou and Steven. Lucia enjoyed a large extended family that lived close by. She attended the one room Rural Dell Grade School and later graduated from Molalla Union High School in 1932. She was involved with the Glee Club, Class plays, Home Economics Club and the Commercial Club. Lucia was a loyal Alumna and at her death was the oldest living graduate of the school.

She married Fred G. Schuebel on December 27th 1935 at a small gathering in her parents back yard. They began married life on a farm in Mulino where she spent the rest of her life. Fred and Lucia welcomed their son Robert (1940) and daughter Diane (1943) to their family. When the children were grown Lucia began working as a cook at Mulino Elementary School. She loved Dixieland Jazz and started driving a car in the 1960's and was an avid reader her entire life. If she wasn't reading, doing crossword puzzles then she was watching baseball. Lucia loved taking road trips to famous tourist sites all over the USA. She was a member of Smyrna United Church of Christ and belonged to Mulino Lionesses, the Oak Rebecca Lodge in Molalla and Mulino Grange as well as being a 4H leader. She died having lived for more than 100 years. She died on January 31, 2018, in Mulino, Oregon, at the age of 102. Interment is at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City.
