Lena Lorene Askew Moore went home to be with her Lord June 17, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. She attended Parkway Church of God with her family. Lorene was born February 23, 1928 to Lewis and Elizabeth Askew of Parrottsville, TN. After marrying Hugh Francis Moore, Lorene began working at Stokely’s Van Camp and was a long time employee, eventually, retiring from Hunts. She loved cooking for those she loved and spent many hours canning every summer. She was a generous and loving woman who never hesitated to give to others in need.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh Moore, her parents Lewis & Elizabeth Askew, her brothers Robin, Charles, Burl, Edd, & George Askew, and sister, Mattie Rhea Askew Barger.

She is survived by her brothers Cecil and Wayne Askew, daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Terry Ottinger, grandson Todd (Deana) Ottinger, granddaughter Shalee (Joe) Nanney and great- grandchildren Olivia and Joey Nanney, and Trevor Smith. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care (Judith, Kim, Barbara, Jessie, and Don (Chaplain) and special friends Karen Black and Helen Price.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm on Thursday in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Ottinger and Don Price officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, June 21, 2019 in Union Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
